In nuclear power plants, both boiling water reactors (BWR) and pressurized water reactors (PWR) require secondary separation or “steam drying” as the final stage of water separation within the reactors. In addition, technologies are required to remove water condensed from the process steam to maximize thermal efficiency and minimize erosion/corrosion of steam loop piping.
