Nuclear Power Industry
POWERING CLEAN ENERGY PRODUCTION
A nuclear reactor produces and controls the release of energy from splitting the atoms of certain elements. The energy released from continuous fission of atoms of the fuel is utilized as heat in either a gas or water to produce steam. The steam is used to drive the turbines that power electricity generators. Both boiling water reactors (BWR) and pressurized water reactors (PWR) require secondary separation or “steam drying” as the final stage of water separation within the reactors. In addition, technologies are required to remove water condensed from the process steam to maximize thermal efficiency and minimize erosion/corrosion of steam loop piping.
CECO Environmental addresses the challenges of the nuclear power industry with clean, safe, and efficient products and solutions within our CECO family of brands shown below.
