Commissioning Silencer

Commissioning Silencer

During the installation of a new plant or an upgrade of a plant there is a big change that debris enters the system. This debris forms a big risk for the plant integrity and can cause safety issues. To assure the debris will not be there any more at start-up cleaning needs to be done. A typical way of cleaning is blowing high pressure steam through the piping.

With steam blowing a lot of noise is generated which causes another safety risk for the employees and the environment. For that reason, a Commissioning silencer is required. This silencer needs to be extremely robust to handle the debris (tools, weld slag, etc.), easy to maintain/clean and have good acoustical performance.

Our standard commissioning silencer model is designed to vent over half a million kg/hr. (1.1 million lbs./hr.) of steam and provides 35-40 decibels of noise reduction. Additional noise reduction in total noise is achievable by way of an acoustical splitter package installed at the outlet of the silencer. This design with spitter package can provide over 50 decibels of noise reduction.

The silencer is skidded for shipment and installation on a flat ground. For easier transportation worldwide, installation and meet high mass flow, optimize design can be provided with optimum size silencers connected in parallel.

With the horizontal inlet pipe that has a flat cover that can easily be removed the debris can be taken out easily.

Since this type of silencers is only used for a few weeks or months at a time there is also the possibility to rent these silencers.

Combined CPI + DGF Unit (CompacSep)

Combined CPI + DGF Unit (CompacSep)

Advanced Oil-Water Separator “CompacSep” is a next generation Oily Water Separation product which offers technological advantage of Corrugated Plate Interceptor and Flotation technology combined in single vessel or tank. This is used to remove oil and solids from produced water to ensure that it is safe for disposal and re-use.

Process Description

  1. Corrugated Plate Interceptor Section

Oily water enters the unit from the top of the vessel through an inlet device. The coalescence section is provided with plate packs which ensure effective separation of all three phases from each other. The plate pack offered by Peerless is the counter- current plate pack technology which removes bulk oil from water in a much smaller footprint compared to other technologies.

An additional feature is that the plate packs will suppress any re-circulation and the motion of waves. In the counter-current design, the small oil droplets rise by virtue of the fact that their density is lower than that of the carrier medium and attach themselves to the underside of the upper plate. The oil film that is thus constantly being formed at the underside of each plate creeps slowly upwards along the plates. The oil film is assisted in its upward movement by the concurrent laminar flow.

At the top of the plates, the oil film is coalesced into a thick stream of oil that quickly rises to the upper part of the tank. The oil then forms a layer, which can be removed by the oil skimmer to an integral oil holding sump.

The water flows through an underflow weir to the treated water section and flows down to the flotation section. The light oil floats to top of the liquid layer and flows to bucket type skimmer provided on underflow weir. The recovered oil will flow to recovered oil chamber of IGF Section.

  1. Dissolved Gas Flotation Section

Water enters the unit through flotation section and flows down the length of the vessel through four flotation cells. Each flotation cell is separated from the next by an underflow baffle which is designed to maintain uniform flow through the flotation cell. The recycle stream is taken from treated water section of the flotation unit using microbubble-generating pumps and pumped back to through the whitewater (gas-containing water) distributors. Each flotation cell contains a set of manifold responsible to uniformly distribute the microbubbles.

The entrained gas bubbles have the effect of sticking to the oil droplets and bringing them to the liquid surface where they form an unstable foam/scum layer. The foam and oily water scum are removed using an overflow weir into an oily water collection compartment.

Water leaving the final flotation cell passes around the underflow/overflow weir to the Treated Water Section.

Because the flotation gas is recycled, no additional gas is required. A small gas bleed is often included to refresh the gas in the flotation unit during times of low flow.

CLARI-SEP®

CLARI-SEP®

Wash Water Separator is capable of treating waste water generated from the cleaning of machinery and equipment, separating free oil and dirt from the water making it suitable for sewer discharge.* The process used include aeration, gravity separation, solids separation, oil coalescing, ozone disinfection and oxidation.

The CLARI-SEP® is designed for installation in either indoor or outdoor locations and is supplied with drain lines and valves to prevent freeze damage. An optional immersion heater is also available for installation in the separator tank. The pumps are designed and sized for optimum operating conditions to provide water suitable for sanitary discharge from a typical pressure-washer wash bay.

The CLARI-SEP® is capable of processing up to 15 gallons per minute of wash water through the separation, filtration and disinfection components. The CLARI-SEP® removes free oil and hydro-carbons (one micron and larger in size), dirt, sand and grit (down to 50 microns in size) and provides constant recirculation with ozonation for bacteria control.

* NOTE: “suitable for sewer discharge” is defined as the allowable discharge limits in your local area.

Ceramic Membrane

Ceramic Membrane

Ceramic membrane is a process where fluid flows through the tiny pores in the ceramic filter element, and particles larger than the pores of the ceramic filter are trapped on the surface. The first ceramic membranes (CM) were produced in the 1980s, and ceramic filtration was made from inorganic materials (such as alumina, titania, zirconia oxides, and silicon carbide).

The ceramic membrane is now progressively recognized in the water treatment industry. It is used for oil-water separation, sediment filtration, water purification and for chemically aggressive fluid and high-temperature applications. A ceramic membrane is a good choice for extreme applications.
