Blow Down Separator Silencer

Blow Down Separator Silencer

Burgess-Manning has the solutions for all your safety, and unit blowdown applications for the natural gas industry. With well over 20 years of experience in the industry, Burgess-Manning has handled applications of various sizes from all the main players within the natural gas industry. From single unit blowdown silencers, to handling multiple volumes in a large multi-million pound per hour station blowdown silencer, Burgess-Manning has solutions to fit your needs, no matter the blowdown duration or sound pressure level requirements.

Natural Gas Blowdown Silencers have a few critical design aspects. The most important is safely release the gas compressor station from pressure, especially in an emergency blowdown situation. This has to be done in a controlled manner to assure the integrity of the system without causing acoustical pollution that can form a hazardous situation for the employees and its surroundings.

To achieve we focus on:

  •  Controlled blowdown time
  •  Acoustic design
  • Separation of any liquids to assure these hydrocarbon liquids will not be spilled.
  • Ejection height to provide sufficient dispersion

The blowdown time is controlled with our uniquely designed multi-stage diffuser in combination with upstream Restrictive Orifice. If that is not sufficient, we can also offer a dynamic variable orifice.

With the right multi-stage diffuser, we have the full flexibility to design the silencer very compact and meet the most stringent acoustical requirements. If required multiple blowdown lines can be combined to one single casing to minimize the required installation footprint.

Another benefit of our compact silencers is the option to integrate a separation component in the diffuser. During venting of the natural gas compressor station or pipeline there often is the risk that hydrocarbon liquids are released to atmosphere. With our integrated separator these liquid hydrocarbons are knocked out and collected in the sump of the silencer. This way the pollution of our environment is reduced to an absolute minimum even in safety situations.

Our Natural Gas Blowdown Separator Silencer assures you can safely blowdown your system and assure the safety of your workers and neighbors and take out the spilling of liquid hydrocarbons). All in the most compact silencer available in the market which minimizes transportation and installation cost.

Basket Strainers

Coarse filtration is a type of physical filtration process where a contaminated fluid is passed through a special pore-sized strainer to remove suspended particles from process liquid. The particles removed depend on the strainer type, mesh or micron rating, and construction method.

Basket strainers are simple mechanical sieving devices inserted into vessels / housings to remove solid contaminants from a process liquid stream.

The baskets can be fabricated from several materials such as SS304, SS316, or even exotic materials such as Duplex Stainless Steel and Monel, based on compatibility with the fluid handled.

Basket strainers are available in a range of mesh and micron sizes, and construction styles like mesh and wedge wire screens.

Advanced Oxidation Process

Advanced Oxidation Process

Advanced oxidation process (AOP) is a chemical treatment procedure designed to remove organic and some inorganic material from water and wastewater by oxidation reactions. Used mostly for wastewater treatment, AOP usually refers specifically to a chemical process that employs ozone (O3), hydrogen peroxide (H2O2), with or without UV light, and Ferrate base chemicals.

AOP is widely used in industrial wastewater treatment and brings several benefits such as achieving disinfection, the process doesn’t introduce any new hazardous substances into the water, and it effectively eliminates organic compounds from wastewater, among others.

FEATURES & BENEFITS

  • Effectively eliminate organic compounds from wastewater
  • Transfer pollutants into another safe phase
  • Heavy metals can be removed
  • Disinfection can be achieved
  • Does not introduce any new hazardous substances into the water
  • Some AOP chemicals are environmentally friendly
CECO Environmental

APPLICATIONS

  • Chemical treatment for sewage water
  • Chemical treatment for COD and BOD for industrial wastewater
  • Chemical treatment for pharmaceutical wastewater
  • Chemical treatment for the food and beverage industry
  • Treatment of hazardous wastewater

Acoustical Shrouds

Acoustical Shrouds

Acoustical shrouds can be applied on/around surfaces and equipment that emit too much noise.  Our shrouds can be used to meet your near field and or far field noise requirements.

With our experience we can help you select which surface or surfaces to cover with shrouds and in case another solution might be beneficial (like moving a silencer more upstream) we will advise that as well as – we look at the overall optimization of your system – we have a broad range of products to compliment the shroud.

Our shroud solutions are modular and can be connected direct to your systems, like HRSGs, or as a free-standing construction with a support structure.  Being modular they are easily demounted and reinstalled as and where required to facilitate access to shrouded elements also. The shrouds are designed in a way to provide for natural ventilation to occur preventing heat buildup.  Our engineers will be actively engaged in finding solutions for all interface requirements – as we do understand your challenges.  We even have developed a solution where we can supply a shroud that you can attach / connect to your HRSG wall without welding being required on site.

Other options from our portfolio are freestanding walls when the enclosure cannot be connected to an existing structure.

Acoustical Consultancy

Acoustical Consultancy

Burgess-Manning is the pioneer of noise control. Since 1928 we supply acoustical solutions that minimize noise, and the impact noise has on the surroundings of an industrial plant. Often this is done in a new situation, and you work based on assumptions.

On the other hand, we also see that there are acoustical challenges in existing situations. Or plant owners want to take responsibility and reduce the noise pollution for their employees and the environment. In these existing situation or 90+ years of experience in acoustical solutions comes in handy. To support you we can do an acoustical site survey to determine what are the big sources of noise and advise on the best possibilities to mitigate the noise.

When the noise source is clear our site survey can support you to determine how big the challenge is and what is required to resolve this issue.

Our engineers are capable of:

  • On site sound level measurements
  • Noise prediction calculations
  • Detailed advise about the steps to undertake to reduce your “noise” problem

Acoustic Plant Screens

Acoustic Plant Screens

Wakefield Acoustics design, manufacture and install a range of acoustic plant screens for industrial and commercial applications.

In many instances, it is not always practical to install full acoustic enclosures to reduce noise emissions. This can be due to ventilation requirements, or sometimes the sheer size or complexity of the noise source. In these instances, an acoustically absorbent screen or acoustic barriers can be erected to reduce sound transmission, which absorbs noise to provide a high level of noise reduction.

INDUSTRIAL ACOUSTIC SCREEN
We work with clients to solve noise problems across a number of industries, from industrial manufacturing facilities to contractors with acoustic screens for construction sites on new commercial and residential developments. Our acoustic screen solutions are cost-effectively designed to meet the most challenging of acoustic requirements.

ACOUSTIC SCREENS CONSTRUCTION
Wakefield Acoustics premium acoustic plant screen designs are tailored to suit the particular application, size and site location. Our constructions range from a pre-assembled modular build, through to site-built panel screens with integrated support steelwork. Please refer to below for details of optional features of our screens. Additional information is available in the downloadable product catalog.

Acoustic screens make an ideal noise reduction solution for mechanical plant equipment, shielding excessive noise between operating areas and noise-sensitive areas.

Our full range of acoustic plant screens has been independently tested in accordance with BS EN ISO 10140-2:2010 ‘International Standard Method for Measurement of Airborne Sound Insulation of Building Elements’ to determine Sound Reduction Indices.
