Process Air Gas Silencers

Process Air Gas Silencers

Typically utilized for rotary blades or centrifugal blowers, Wakefield Acoustics offers a wide range of custom-designed process air or gas silencers. Each silencer is cost-effectively designed to meet the most demanding of customer noise specifications.

We offer several type of absorptive silencer construction dependent on application and structural requirements, from light gauge welded construction through to heavy plate welded construction.

INDUSTRIAL SILENCER
Dependent upon the level of acoustic performance required silencers can be designed with an absorptive outer layer, thus not presenting additional pressure onto the system. Where a high level of noise reduction is required, a central acoustic pod would normally be installed.

Given the high heat levels which can sometimes be generated in process air and gas lines, the silencers would normally be treated with a heat-resistant paint finish after fabrication.

Wakefield Acoustics is able to undertake pressure testing of silencers to ensure compliance with project requirements.

NOISE HAVENS FAQS

When it’s not practical to enclose noisy machinery or other noise sources, the next option is to create a respite space for the staff in noisy environments. These are called acoustic noise havens.

MS Super Venturi Scrubber

MS Super Venturi Scrubber

Scrubbers are used for gaseous and particulate control, by means of utilizing water, or other liquid, to remove pollutants from an exhaust stream.

With Venturi scrubbers, the dirty gas entering a scrubber is forced at high velocity through a Venturi where it collides with scrubbing water. The tiny water droplets capture particles through impaction and diffusion. The dirty water is then removed in a cyclonic separator and discharged into a recycle tank. Some of the liquid is continuously purged to limit the solids concentration and allow recirculation back to the Venturi section.

All our Fisher-Klosterman Emtrol MS Super Venturi Scrubbers are designed to operate with the highest efficiency and durability, surpassing industry standards and performance guaranteed.

We utilize numerous designs for our throat, water injection and separator components to ensure that the scrubber you install is best suited for your process requirements, attaining maximum productivity and efficiency.

Designing and supplying custom-made air pollution machinery for nearly seventy years, Fisher-Klosterman MS Super Venturi scrubbers offer unequalled air pollution control and product recovery for a wide range of applications and excel in situations where others fail. Even in the most intense conditions, highest temperatures and extreme pressures, our products perform flawlessly. We build our products employing cutting-edge design technologies so they are ideally fitted to handling erosive particles and corrosive gases.

Hydro-Lance Wet Scrubber for Particulate Control

Hydro-Lance Wet Scrubber for Particulate Control

With Venturi scrubbers, the dirty gas entering a scrubber is forced at high velocity through a Venturi where it collides with scrubbing water. The tiny water droplets capture particles through impaction and diffusion. The dirty water is then removed in a cyclonic separator and discharged into a recycle tank. Some of the liquid is continuously purged to limit the solids concentration and allow recirculation back to the Venturi section.

However, Venturi scrubbers can experience pump failures, small orifice nozzle clogging and material failures. To avoid these issues, we offer the Hydro-Lance Wet Scrubber system, which combines proven Venturi collection methodology with our HEE-Duall SAVe (Sub-merged-Air-Venturi) technology.

In terms of the principles of operation for the Hydro-Lance Wet Scrubber, static pressure induced by an exhaust fan draws the sump water and dust-laden air stream into an inverted Venturi throat. Turbulent mixing of dust and small droplets form an agglomerate, which is returned to sump where water is reused, and particulate matter settles out or is dissolved. Entrained mists and dust are collected on a chevron blade mist eliminator. The collected dust then forms sludge at the conical bottom of the scrubber.
