The Chlor-Alkali Industry is the prime provider of the chemicals Chlorine and Sodium Hydroxide. These basic chemicals are used at some stage in the manufacture of almost every consumer product. CECO’s fiber bed mist eliminators play an important role in the production of chlorine and sodium hydroxide, in both the dry and wet ends of the production process.
Our high efficiency mist eliminators help to maintain production efficiency by removing brine mist from the product chlorine gas before the chlorine enters the drying tower. Our mist eliminators then purify the dried chlorine by removing sulfuric acid mist. This step also protects downstream compression equipment from corrosion. Hydrogen gas, produced as a byproduct, is passed through mist eliminators to remove brine and caustic mist prior to its use as a combustion gas.
