CECO ENVIRONMENTAL ANNOUNCES 13 NEW ORDERS
TOTALING APPROXIMATELY $10.75 MILLION

CECO FILTERS SUBSIDIARY SIGNS SOLE SOURCE CONTRACT

CINCINNATI, OHIO, August 20, 2008 - CECO Environmental Corp. (NASDAQ: CECE), a leading provider of air pollution control and industrial ventilation systems, announced today that it has secured 13 new orders totaling approximately $10.75 million.

Rick Blum, President and Chief Operating Officer, said, "These orders were secured by our Fisher-Klosterman, CECO Abatement, Effox, H.M. White, Flextor, and Kirk & Blum subsidiaries. They involve projects for the chemical, refining, ethanol, power, automotive, and steel industries. The largest of the orders is in excess of $2 million and involves equipment for a new automotive manufacturing facility in the southeastern United States. We are pleased to be able to report that one of our newest acquisitions, Flextor, has already begun to book significant new business for CECO. We expect that the Effox/Flextor combination is going to make CECO an even more significant factor in the damper and expansion joint business."

Phillip DeZwirek, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, stated, "We are pleased to report that our CECO Filters subsidiary has signed a contract under which it will provide, on a sole source basis, fiber bed filters to a major government agency for a four year period. This customer's process demands high quality filter performance and the fact that we were selected for this contract is a testament to the quality of the products which CECO Filters provides. While we cannot be certain of the total amount of revenue we will realize from this contract and will only book orders and add them to backlog as orders are released, we feel that it will be a significant portion of CECO Filters business over the next four years."
