CECO ENVIRONMENTAL ANNOUNCES
  NEW PROJECT IN CHINA
    SEPTEMBER BOOKINGS $18.3 MILLION
      NINE MONTH BOOKINGS NOW OVER $115 MILLION

NEW YORK, October 10, 2006 - CECO Environmental Corp. (NASDAQ: CECE), a leading provider of air pollution control and industrial ventilation systems announced today that it has secured two new rolling mill ventilation projects valued at a total of over $1 million. One of the projects, for an aluminum rolling mill, is for a plant located in China.

Rick Blum, President and Chief Operating Officer, stated, "Both of these projects were secured by our Busch International subsidiary. Busch is the world's premier provider of rolling mill ventilation systems."

Phillip DeZwirek, Chairman and CEO of CECO stated, "We continue to book business at a record pace. Bookings for September were approximately $18.3 million which is a 223% increase over last September's bookings of $8.2 million. As of the end of September our bookings for the year are over $115 million. This is a 197% increase over the bookings through the end of September last year which were slightly under $59 million."
