CECO ENVIRONMENTAL ANNOUNCES
    NEW ORDERS TOTALING $1.7 MILLION
YEAR TO DATE BOOKINGS NOW IN EXCESS OF $90 MILLION

NEW YORK, August 23, 2006 - CECO Environmental Corp. (NASDAQ: CECE), a leading provider of air pollution control and industrial ventilation systems announced today that it has received significant new orders totaling $1.7 million. Its CECO Abatement subsidiary received orders for equipment for the ethanol industry. This equipment will be fabricated by CECO'S Kirk & Blum subsidiary. Its CECO Filters subsidiary received orders for equipment from the United States Government and also from the food processing industry.

President Rick Blum stated, "The CECO Filters order is the result of our having convinced local air quality authorities in a western part of the U.S. that our technology is superior to an older technology which had been the standard in that area. It is our hope that this breakthrough will result in additional opportunities. Our Kirk & Blum subsidiary will install this turnkey project."

Chairman and CEO Phillip DeZwirek commented, "It is gratifying to experience the continued momentum of new orders with bookings for the year now over $90 million."
