CECO ENVIRONMENTAL RECEIVES NEW ORDERS TOTALING $2.0 MILLION
ORDERS FOR FIRST THREE MONTHS OF 2006 EQUAL $35.3 MILLION

NEW YORK, April 4, 2006 - CECO Environmental Corp. (NASDAQ: CECE), a leading provider of air pollution control and industrial ventilation systems announced today that it has received two new orders totaling approximately $2.0 million. The first, valued at $1.75 million, is for the renovation of automotive spray booths at an automobile assembly plant in the southeast. The second, valued at $250,000, is for a ventilation system for a roofing materials plant in the eastern United States.

Rick Blum, President and Chief Operating Officer, stated, "Our Kirk & Blum subsidiary received the spray booth renovation contract. This work will be done over a period of months and will be completed during the plant's Christmas shutdown. CECO Filters received the order from the roofing plant. This project will utilize fiber bed filter technology to clean the air stream. Kirk & Blum will act as CECO Filter's subcontractor to build the rest of the ventilation equipment."

Phillip DeZwirek, Chairman and CEO of CECO stated, "Our new order rate continues to be exceptional. Bookings in March were $10.2 million making the total thus far $35.3 million in 2006, compared to $15.6 for the first three months of 2005. Our backlog at the end of February 2006 was $43.6 million compared to $21.1 million as of February 2005."
