CECO ENVIRONMENTAL REPORTS APPOINTMENT OF
CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER

NEW YORK, December 17, 2004 - CECO Environmental Corp. (NASDAQ: CECE) today reported that Dennis Blazer has been appointed Vice President and Chief Financial Officer.

Mr. Blazer has over thirty years of financial management experience and most recently served as the Chief Financial Officer for Interlott Technologies, Inc. (AMEX:ILI), a national provider of vending technology for the lottery industry. In September 2003 Interlott was merged into Gtech Corporation. Following the merger, Mr. Blazer served as temporary CFO of the Interlott division and as a consultant to Gtech. Prior to that he was employed by The Plastic Moldings Corporation where he served in many capacities leading up to the position of Vice President of Finance and Administration. Mr. Blazer is a Certified Public Accountant.
