CECO ENVIRONMENTAL RECEIVES RECORD ORDER
New York, October 29, 2002 - CECO Environmental Corp (NASDAQ - CECE)
reported today that it's wholly owned subsidiary Kirk & Blum has received an order in excess of $7,000,000 from a major automobile manufacturer to design, fabricate and install coolant mist collection systems for a facility located in the Southeastern United States.

The mist collection equipment will utilize the fiber bed technology of CECO Environmental's subsidiary, CECO Filters. Rick Blum, CECO Environmental's president stated, " to our knowledge, this is one of the largest if not the largest turnkey contract ever secured in which fiber bed technology was utilized for coolant mist collection. Kirk & Blum and CECO Filters, working together, are providing our customer the best possible solution on a turnkey basis, to the mist collection problem. "

CECO stated that this is the largest single order ever received by Kirk & Blum in its 95-year corporate history. CECO currently has a backlog of approximated $20 Million and with its recently announced new corporate efficiency and debt reduction programs is operating at a rate of profitability's not seen in several years.
